hello little ones! i hope this winter has inadvertently brought you something good, like a much needed day off during that minus 30 degree weather last month, or the opportunity, while sick in bed with the flu, to read a book that would end up being life changing. here are a few little things. i hope you enjoy and that you keep hanging in there.
- i’d eat it: pad thai creme brulee
- this winter and into the spring, let’s all work on a balancing act between the type of self care where we build for ourselves a life that we don’t have to regularly escape from (make that dentist appointment! write that difficult email!) and the kind where we then reward ourselves with a little something like sea salt and vinegar caramels from olive and sinclair, or homemade margarita salt scrub. get into it.
- relatedly: hands-on-home
- on my “to read very very soon, i mean it” list is you and i eat the same
- breakfast mac and cheese, alright?
- betty crocker’s absurd, gorgeous atomic-age creations are, weirdly, an inspiration
- i’m glad we’re all in agreement on the greatest office episode ever
- cacio e pepe roasted chickpeas, or, “a can of beans, made earnestly and simply delicious with heat and spices.” what could be more of a luxury?
- 3d artist mat szulik’s new series is, as always, quite unreal
- with subjects like “a rainy day, making soup” and “at the farmers market on a fall morning”, nothing much happens is clearly my kind of podcast, whether as a tool to help one fall asleep, or as a way of alleviating sudden feelings that nothing matters or whatever
- but also: why art is the antidote for our times
- getting meat eaters to eat more plant-based foods by making their mouths water is my life’s mission, honestly
- chase your dreams ok? most of mine involve this kitchen
- but the actual chasing of dreams involves everything on this list of trips for food lovers
- in case ya missed it, here’s a playlist filled with songs to play quietly while cooking a beautiful breakfast on a loud winter morning and vice versa
- “cooking every day was my compulsion. then it was my cure.” things are getting very real up in here.
- the pop object (!!!!!!) is super relevant to the interests of this blog, you know?
- the secret to getting what you want is asking for it. i know this to be true.
- am i ina garten yet?
that’s all folks!
