hello! i am sorry i’m not comin atcha with a recipe for pumpkin pie or a guide on how to use up those leftovers or whatever. i will blame it on the fact that i’ve been traveling a lot which i leaves little of me left for recipe testing. maybe um…next year.

so anyway, i just returned (“just” being a week and a half ago) from the merry old land of memphis where i ate many fried chickens, ate many cheeses, saw many cutie marching ducks and might possibly have won the editor’s choice award for best new voice at the saveur blog awards??????????

um

i will just take a second to reiterate what a feeling it is to be recognized and appreciated for something you’ve put so much time and energy and love into. i will just take a minute to say, despite the fact that everyone loves to say what an honor it was just to be nominated, that it was such an honor just to be nominated. to be there among all the talented, hardworking others who were up for nominations, and among the incredible saveur staff who made it all happen. to be chosen along with such fantastic blogs as cooking for elephants (winner of the reader’s choice award!!!), cahier no. 1, jun & tonic, foodkappa23, and bon vivantito to represent the best new voices of the food blogging world.

and to have won is one of the many things i’m thankful for this thanksgiving.

along with the numerous other exciting opportunities i’ve had this year. and family. and friends. and good food. and good food with friends and family. and the prospect of improved health some day in the future. and fried chicken. it’s a good thing, you know? to Live A Life.

so what now? i suppose i’ve come back from memphis with a bit of the It’s-Over-Isn’t-Its (ok fine i admit that the real reason i blew off thanksgiving blogging is because i’ve been consumed with watching many steven universes). but mostly with the Very-Much-Inspired-To-Put-More-Time-And-Energy-And-Love-Than-Ever-Into-This_Lil-Food-Blog-s. so here we go! let’s keep doing what we’re doing because i never have and never will be able to do this alone. i have many thrilling blogging plans for the new year and beyond, and i hope you’ll stick around. thank you thank you thank you and happy thanksgiving!!!
