hi!!! fall is finally here in minnesota, or maybe possibly winter already. here are some things that are going to get us through it all:
- alisha’s incredible newly-opened journal shop, filled with beautiful, unique journals handmade with “love and just a little bit of cat hair”
- butternut squash pie with shallots, radicchio, and feta. oh my god
- a cast iron casserole that doubles as a witch’s cauldron probably
- it’s hard enough to get out of bed in the morning when it’s not cold and getting colder, dark and getting darker. do yourself a favor and make some lavender coffee with sea salt whipped cream as a reward for taking that first step. and then crawl right back under the covers.
- if you’re looking for something a little more substantial but still easy enough to make with eyes half-closed, this recipe for breakfast tortas is your lady. chicano eats is one of my favorite blogs at the moment, with his flavorful collection of recipes inspired by his heritage, accompanied by brightly colored minimalist photography
- learn more about native american cuisine from the sioux chef, a non-profit organization working towards reviving indigenous ingredients
- the 4 types of gin and what they even are
- i’m a proud, lifelong member of #teampie and am ready af for this hawaij apple pie with cardamom whipped cream
- these constellation plates are my truest aesthetic
- dominica – life after a hurricane (more on this next week)
- you’ve probably heard about the little goat with anxiety who’s only calm while wearing her duck costume. now, share the story with your kids or um…buy yourself a picture book in celebration of your 26th birthday. it’s fine. (100% of the proceeds go towards supporting goats of anarchy and helping goats like polly and her friends !!!!)
- “abandoned” by talented 3d artist, mohamed chahin
- i’m pumped about this pumpkin lassi with ginger, cardamom, and coconut
- ottolenghi does it again with his recipe for roast portobello mushrooms with brioche and poached egg
- for the (second) cutest food illustrations you’ve seen in a while, get a load of leave me alone with the recipes
have a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
